Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start drawing on my screen?
Click the ScreenMark icon in your menu bar to open the toolbar, then select the pen or any drawing tool. Your cursor changes to confirm drawing mode is active. Draw freely on top of any content.
How do I clear all annotations?
Use the eraser tool to remove individual strokes, or click the Clear All button in the toolbar. You can also press ⌘Z to undo the last stroke.
What is Whiteboard Mode?
Whiteboard Mode covers your screen with a solid white (or black) canvas, turning your display into a virtual whiteboard. Perfect for teaching, explaining concepts, or live sketching without switching apps.
Does ScreenMark record my screen without me knowing?
No. ScreenMark requests Screen Recording permission to display its overlay — it never captures, records, or saves screenshots unless you explicitly start a recording session. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can I use ScreenMark during Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet?
Yes. ScreenMark's overlay is visible to remote participants during screen sharing on Zoom, Teams, Meet, and similar apps. This makes it ideal for remote teaching, live demos, and async walkthroughs.
Zoom or recording won't start — what should I do?
Confirm Screen Recording permission is granted in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. After granting, quit ScreenMark from the menu bar and relaunch it — permissions take effect after a restart.
Does ScreenMark support multiple monitors?
Yes. The drawing overlay follows your cursor to whichever display is active. You can switch between monitors freely during a session.
My Pro subscription isn't showing as active — how do I fix it?
Open ScreenMark Settings → Purchases and tap Restore Purchases. If the issue persists, ensure you're signed into the correct Apple ID in the App Store, then try restoring again.
What audio formats does screen recording support?
Recording exports to MP4 or MOV with microphone and/or system audio. GIF recording is silent. Verify your audio toggles in the recording panel before you start to ensure the correct sources are captured.
How do I quit ScreenMark?
Right-click (or Control-click) the ScreenMark icon in your menu bar and select Quit, or use the Quit option inside the toolbar panel.
